Overview

Renogy REGO 12V 60A DC-DC Battery Charger

The Renogy REGO 12V 60A DC-DC Battery Charger saves significant installation time over traditional battery chargers. Its pioneering bidirectional charging technology provides the most effective way to charge your auxiliary batteries from the starter battery on the go — and then recharges and maintains your starter battery once the auxiliary batteries are full. Part of the modular REGO ecosystem, it’s engineered for fast, tidy, plug-and-play installation.

Bidirectional Charging Technology

Unlike conventional DC-DC chargers, the REGO charger works in both directions. It charges your service (house) battery from the alternator while driving, and when the power of the starting battery runs low, it automatically reverse-charges the starter battery from the service battery system — keeping your vehicle ready to start (indicated by a solid blue Battery LED).

Plug-and-Play Anderson Connectors

Anderson PP75 connectors on the input and output make wiring fast, secure, and beginner-friendly — connect via the REGO Battery Kit (with System Combiner Box) or a standard battery with ring-terminal adapter cables. Clearly labelled input and output terminals reduce installation errors.

Protects Your Starter Battery

The charger detects whether the vehicle’s alternator is running before it begins charging (starting voltage above 12.5V for smart alternators, above 13.5V for traditional), preventing over-discharge of the starting battery. An IGN signal wire (included) connects to smart alternators for correct operation.

5-Position Battery Type Knob

A simple knob selects between AGM/SLD, Gel, Flooded, Lithium, and User modes — no display needed. User Mode lets you customise charging parameters through the Renogy DC Home app.

CAN / RV-C Networking

Dual CAN communication ports let you integrate the charger into an RV-C backbone or daisy-chain multiple REGO devices together for safe operation, smart control, and close monitoring across your whole system.

Simple LED Status Indicators

  • Battery LED flashing green: service battery charging
  • Battery LED solid green: service battery fully charged
  • Battery LED solid blue: reverse-charging the starter battery
  • Fault LED red: fault detected (see manual)

Temperature & Voltage Sensing

The included temperature sensor calibrates charging voltage to battery temperature for safe charging across the -20°C to 60°C operating range. An optional Battery Voltage Sensor (RVSCC) provides accurate voltage feedback to fine-tune charging and extend battery life. (Note: don’t use the temperature sensor on a LiFePO4 battery with its own built-in BMS.)

Ideal Applications

  • RVs, caravans, and motorhomes
  • Camper van and 4×4 dual-battery builds
  • Boats and marine installations
  • REGO-ecosystem lithium battery systems
  • Auxiliary/house battery charging systems

Important Setup Note

Mount the charger on a vertical surface with at least 6 inches (150mm) clearance above and below for airflow — never in a sealed enclosure with flooded batteries. Set the correct battery type on the knob before use, and identify cable polarity carefully, as reverse-polarity contact may damage the unit. An 80A battery fuse is recommended on both input and output for safety.

Choose the Renogy REGO 12V 60A DC-DC Battery Charger for fast-install, bidirectional alternator charging that keeps both your house and starter batteries healthy — the smart, networkable heart of any REGO-based RV, marine, or off-grid system.
